Both charming and functional, carriages appear throughout the ages in all shapes and sizes. The National Sporting Library & Museum (NSLM) is proud to present a day to celebrate these horse-drawn pieces of history. Carriage Day, a free community event, will feature over twenty historic and refurbished carriages from the Piedmont Driving Club and Colonial Williamsburg. On July 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, visitors will find carriage displays, walking tours led by area experts, and even a “drive-by” of these historic vehicles in the front circle of the Museum. With featured talks, children’s activities, a book sale, and free admission to the Museum, carriage day will be an event fun for the whole family and certainly not one to miss!
