Celebrity Competitors Show Off Their Equestrian Style at Hampton Classic

If you find yourself asking, “I wonder if they are related to (insert famous last name here),” then the answer is most likely yes. With 1,600 horses, 50,000 spectators, and about $800,000 in prize money, it is easy to see why the Hampton Classic attracts the best of the best competition – especially celebrity competition.

Check out how these famous faces are faring so far at the 2016 Hampton Classic:

  • Georgina Bloomberg: Daughter of New York’s former mayor, Mike Bloomberg, has already won the $10,000 Royalton Farms Open Jumper Class. Celebrity or not, this makes her a serious competitor for the $30,000 Longines Rider Challenge.
  • Mary-Kate Olsen: Competing in multiple events, this Olsen twin has four horses entered in this year’s competition. Mary-Kate has been showing off her equestrian style and competing at the Hampton Classic since 2013.
  • Jessica Springsteen: Bruce’s daughter will be competing in the open jumper division throughout the 2016 Hampton Classic.
  • Eve Jobs: So far, the daughter of the late Apple founder Steve Jobs has won the Junior Jumper competition.
  • Romy Lauer: On Sunday, Matt Lauer’s daughter took home first place in the children’s over fences class.
  • Tabitha Broderick: The youngest celebrity to show off their equestrian style, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s daughter kicked off the 2016 Hampton Classic in the leadline class.
  • McLain Ward: Winning the $30,000 Boar’s Head Open Jumper Challenge, this 2016 U.S. Show Jumping team member started opening day at the Hampton Classic off on the right foot.
